What this site is
HarvardReferencing.ie generates correctly formatted Harvard references and in-text citations for books, journals, websites and more, following the conventions used across Irish third-level institutions. There are also worked guides on in-text citations and referencing websites.
It was built for students who lose marks over comma placement in a bibliography the night before a deadline.
Where the data comes from
The formats follow the Harvard style as commonly taught in Irish universities (the Cite Them Right interpretation), cross-checked against published university library guides.
How it stays accurate
Reference formats change rarely, but when a library guide shifts, the generator and examples are updated together.
Who runs it
HarvardReferencing.ie is a personal project, built and maintained by an independent web developer. It is free to use and not affiliated with any government body or official organisation. The tools here are provided for convenience; for decisions that matter, always confirm with the official source.
